
A distinguished and government-notified Forensic Expert with an MSc in Chemistry, who devoted over 30 years to advancing forensic science in Balochistan. His unmatched expertise across diverse forensic disciplines strengthened modern forensic practice in the province. Remembered for integrity, dedication, and tireless service, he served with honor until his final breath. He passed away in June 2020.

Mr. Aftab Ahmed Khan (Late) began his distinguished career in 1964 when he joined the Police department as a Forensic Expert. Over the course of more than three decades of dedicated service, he earned recognition for his expertise and professionalism, retiring in 1996 with the rank of SSP. Even at the age of 84, Mr. Khan continued to serve with remarkable commitment. He headed the Scientific Investigation Wing of the Punjab Police at Sihala Police College. As a seasoned forensic advisor, he extended his expertise to various law enforcement and intelligence agencies, contributing significantly to the advancement of scientific investigation in Pakistan. He was associated with several high-profile investigations, including the case of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He authored several books, including Criminalistics, Forensic Science, Footprint Science, Fingerprint Science, and Plain Drawing. He passed away on June 2, 2019.

Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Tahir (Late) was a professional in the field of Forensic Sciences. He rendered 35 years of service in internationally reputed forensic laboratories in the US and other countries. He had vast experience of teaching, training and research in Forensic Sciences in various universities and crime laboratories of the world. He established the first-ever, high-tech, internationally recognized Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory, with 14 specialized disciplines. Under his leadership PFSA traced several high-profile cases (Zainab case, Chunian case, Motorway case) using contemporary international practices. Through his personal efforts he contributed approximately Rs 5.5 billion in equipment donations from foreign donors, published more than 115 research publications in international peer-reviewed journals, and helped train 30,000+ officials. He passed away on November 4, 2023.

Inspector Qamar Sajjad, a distinguished Fingerprint Expert at the Finger Print Bureau, Investigation Branch Punjab, Lahore, has built an outstanding reputation for excellence in forensic investigations. With extensive experience across numerous crime scenes, he has played a decisive role in solving several high-profile cases, including the Naliain Mubarak Case (FIR No. 352, P.S. Tibbi City, Lahore) and the double-murder case of the parents of Justice Javed Iqbal (FIR No. 49, P.S. Factory Area, Lahore).
